The Island Garden City of Samal, known also as IGACOS, has been considered Mindanao’s premier tourist destination for the longest time. With white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, it has eco-adventure destinations one shouldn’t miss.
Samal is also home to the finest beach resorts in the region, and so is considered the largest resort city in the Philippines. Today, Philippine Beach Holidays takes you to Secdea Beach Resort, located in San Isidro, Babac.
Still in its early operational stage, it’s already considered one of the most beautiful beach resorts in Samal.
It’s labeled as a pioneering resort, but Secdea already earned a reasonable amount of good reviews from both local and foreign tourists. It received these reviews not only for the white sand beaches, but also for its high-class accommodation and amenities.
If visiting the resort for just a day, here are the day use rates, inclusive of entrance fee, lunch, and use of the pool:
- Adult Rate – PhP 650/pax

If planning to stay overnight, though, there are rates for their rooms and cottages, including a complimentary breakfast.

THE INFINITY RESTAURANT
The Infinity Restaurant is worth dining in when one is in Secdea. It’s named “infinity” because diners have a view of the resort’s gigantic infinity pool. This same view opens onto the beach, also showing Davao and some mountains.
Not only will guests enjoy the food, they get to see the breathtaking view of the azure skies and the blue seawaters. A perfect tropical heaven!
THE MANGROVE WALK
For guests who want to laze around the beach resort, the Mangrove Walk is perfect for wading. Visitors can stroll along the wooden bridge within clumps of mangrove trees. In addition, guests can see fishes and other creatures inhabiting the mangroves. Taking in Mangrove Walk is definitely a recommended activity.
THE HUGE LAGOON AND FISH POND
Another one of Secdea’s amenities, this lagoon and fish pond can be seen upon entering the resort – because it also serves as the welcome ornament. Here, guests can fish for tilapia and bangus, and they’re free to cook the fish afterwards.
